Compensation Range: $22-24 per hour
Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Peer Support services include providing education, assessment, intervention, and outreach services to various components within the clinical programming, working with patients individually, intro to step-work, and education around other self-help modalities. Develops and maintains relationships with patients in the building, provides psychoeducation and aids in patient engagement and/or ATA blocks. Responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships with past patients through phone calls, text messages, and social media with past patients. Assists in coordination of speaker meetings, maintains calendar. Coordinates community building activities that are recovery-based. Responsible for facilitating alumni zoom meetings, events, and updates to alumni regularly. Responsible for working with the admissions staff directly in delegating inbound calls from alumni for all re-admission processes or outreach efforts beyond Peer/Alumni Coordinators’ ability. Responsible for working with facility staff to provide exceptional patient and community satisfaction, and in developing and achieving community education and awareness goals.
Responsibilities
The duties listed below reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the position.
- Perform job functions as determined by Program Director, CEO and needs of the facility
- Responsible for groups/lectures, including:
- Alternative Self-Help meetings (Intro to NA, Dharma, Smart Recovery, etc.) at designated times as determined by Program Director.
- Meets with client within 48 hours of admission to complete a patient engagement.
- Meets with patients weekly to review individual work and self-help introductions.
- Maintains support in clinical programming with detox and specialty groups.
- Works with patients to develop a daily routine focusing on behaviors needed for long term recovery.
- Orients the patient to the facility, program, and schedules.
- Willingly shares personal recovery experiences, demonstrates and models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
- Assists in coordination of speakers to engage with patients in evening programming.
- Assists in patient engagement with patients and ATA blocking.
- Meets with patients individually to provide treatment work including but not limited to step work.
- Completes Exit Surveys with discharging or step-down patients.
- Answers all alumni incoming calls, text messages and social media requests in an appropriate and ethical manner and sharing with Program Director and CEO.
- Maintains open communication with alumni and facility staff members. Initiates and maintains contact with alumni, family members and significant others, and referral sources, pending a release.
- Coordinates referrals to Admissions Manager for all prospective returning patient screenings.
- Coordinates and passes on all potential alumni referrals to Program Director and Admissions Manager for all re-admissions to the facility.
- Organizes, plans, and chaperones all Alumni Meetings and Events.
- Provides support to not only Alumni patients but also families of Alumni that reach out.
- Facilitates Alumni information groups
- Keep direct line of communication with leadership, business development, admissions, and clinical departments.
- Provides community awareness education and in-services on behalf of facility as assigned.
- Complies with facility policies and procedures.
- Participates in all staff meetings; responsible for obtaining information.
- Attends in-services and educational training as necessary and as assigned.
- Approaches patients/family members, significant others, and visitors with a respectful caring manner to convey a sense of concern and warmth.
- Works with the CEO on further outreach efforts.
- Engages with patients during their day-to-day, facilitating a trusting, healthy bond for further outreach and involvement in the event of relapse or outreach.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information and records; and of facility proprietary, privileged, and/or confidential information.
- Communicates and problem solves via the chain of command.
- Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner, sensitive to patient and staff diversity.
- Seeks corrective criticism and has the ability to evaluate suggestions objectively.
- Completes daily tasks as assigned and documents the delivery of all patient services.
- Promotes a favorable/positive work atmosphere.
- Seeks out learning experiences and incorporates new knowledge into practice.
- Maintains flexibility and adaptability to expected and unexpected changes in the work environment.
- Performs all other tasks as assigned.
This is a full-time position that will work Tuesday - Saturday from 1pm - 9:30pm.

- No education required; on-the-job training is offered.
- Experience in the field of substance abuse, knowledge of 12 steps or customer service.
- 1 year of experience working with patients in the behavioral health field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year sobriety, if in recovery
- First Aid, CPR, AED within 30 days of hire required recertification annually thereafter.
- De-escalation/restraint technique certification within 90 days of hire and recertification annually thereafter.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to document within an electronic system.
- Medication training within 30 days of hire, if applicable.
- Washington State only:
- Must be a Certified Peer through the Washington State Health Care Authority
- Must apply for a WA Department of Health, Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential, within 30 days of hire and maintain this credential throughout employment.
- Must obtain a Food Handlers card within 7 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
