Compensation: $21-$23 per hour

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience

Job Description

Functions under the supervision of the Director of Facilities. This employee is responsible for the preventive and light maintenance associated with repairs and general upkeep of the physical plant and grounds. This individual is a significant component of our system to identify safety and/or hazardous issues. 

Responsibilities

The duties listed below reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the position. 

  • Removes old paint from surfaces, fills holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other fillers. 
  • Refinishes walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and trims. 
  • Erects scaffolding. Spreads cloth or canvas over floor and furnishings. 
  • Custodial Duties
  • Performs spray painting. 
  • Replaces stained or damaged ceiling tiles. 
  • Removes vent covers vacuums out, inside, cleans or paints vent covers, and replace. 
  • Installs shelving, brackets, wall hangings etc. with appropriate hardware. 
  • Assembles small pieces of furniture and furniture units. 
  • Mow Grass and Debris removal 
  • General Lawn and Landscape maintenance/pruning  
  • Snow shoveling sidewalks and ice melt application.
  • Tolerate outdoor Climate  
  • Able to work outside in Winter Conditions 
  • Replace/Clean HVAC Filters 
  • Basic understanding of trouble shooting HVAC systems 
  • Basic Automotive knowledge on how to check tire pressure and fluid levels.  
  • Understanding of thermometer to read Water Temperatures 
  • Ability to change lightbulbs or reset circuit breaker. 
  • Ability to check electrical voltage and use Mult-Meter  
  • Ability to connect and operate sump pump. 
  • Ability to operate emergency shut off valves Water, Gas 
  • Ability to Climb Ladders and Roofs 
  • Replace/Change Door Locks 
  •  Removes debris including pallets, papers and trash from common areas. Sweeps sidewalks, common areas, courtyards, stairways and trash enclosures. 
  •  Keeps all electrical rooms clear of debris and ensures that no items are being stored in the electrical rooms. 
  •  Weekly, makes a thorough inspection of the entire property noting any maintenance or mechanical problems requiring repairs.  
  •  Monthly - walks the roofs, cleaning all debris and leaves and removes all objects from the roof (i.e. nails, screws, old filters and motors, discarded building materials, etc.). Cleans all roof drains and gutters. Observes any deficiencies and advises accordingly. 
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

This is a full-time position that will work Monday - Friday 3pm - 11pm.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent OR 
  • 1 Year Prior training and/or work experience in similar position. 
  • Must possess valid driver’s license to utilize company vehicle/Golfcart
