Compensation Range: $58-$68k

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) provides and oversees treatment services as defined in the daily schedule and assists with supervision and facility management. The combined responsibilities of clinical and administrative supervision/management are key to the success of the treatment facility.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of treatment modalities and their strategies/techniques.
  • Understanding how bio/psycho/social/cultural factors influence their patients.
  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain a relationship with the clients and staff who are present for therapy.
  • Helping the patient to develop reasonable and achievable goals for therapy.
  • Guide patients in the development of skills & strategies for dealing with their problems.
  • Building an atmosphere of safety and support (e.g., maintain confidentiality & encourage them to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives and develop insight into themselves & their relationships)
  • Documentation of services concisely and within appropriate time frame
  • Initiate referrals as needed.
  • Coordinate services within ABHC and others (e.g., physician, attorney)
  • Monitor and manage caseload.
  • Maintain RVU Standards
  • Ability to operate the record management system (e.g., AMD) as it relates to the mental health department.
  • Active participation in mental health team meetings & collaboration with colleagues/supervisors
  • Conduct self in a way that is consistent with and reflects the knowledge of and conformance to the ethical principles of the profession and state laws.
  • Modify treatment plan and approach as needed to comply with changes in patient/client status.
  • Recognize and assess dangerousness to self and others & reporting if warranted (e.g., abuse, suicidality)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Psychologist Only:

  • Ability to accurately administer, score & interpret assessments (e.g., WAIS, MMPI, etc.)
  • Integration findings in a comprehensive report including treatment recommendations.
  • Communicate evaluation results with both internal and external providers.

This is a Full-Time position.


Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain CPR and First Aid Certificate, obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Master’s Level Clinicians – Master’s degree and licensure in WA state. Fully licensed preferred (e.g., LMHC, LICSW), Associate license may be acceptable (e.g., LMHCA, LICSWA)
  • Doctoral Level Clinicians – PhD/PsyD and licensed in WA state.
  • The Therapist must possess Master’s or Doctorate in an appropriate field with Licensure. Discovery Behavioral Health utilizes MFT and LCSW interns and psychological assistants under the supervision of an appropriate Licensed Independent Practitioner.
  • Knowledge of the 12-Step program is preferred.
  • Prior training and experience in substance abuse and mental health conditions is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sobriety is required. 
  • Prior experience and knowledge using DSM/ICD criteria to determine diagnosis and recommendations.
