Compensation Range: $15-18 per hour

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Kitchen Manager or designee, the Food Server will serve, clean, and sanitize as required for the proper functioning of the kitchen and cafeteria. 

Responsibilities

The duties listed below reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the position. 

  • Prepare cafeteria counter for each meal, as assigned. 
  • Prepare and portion sandwich fillings and slice meat as necessary for the deli area; make coffee. 
  • Set up dessert counter, fruit and yogurt bar, deli area, and salad bar throughout shift for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 
  • Ensure that all containers are stocked and readily available with dishes, trays, silverware, cups, and napkins. 
  • Maintain condiment area in a neat and sanitary manner.  Ensure all items are properly stocked. 
  • Cover, date, refrigerate, and rotate all applicable foods. 
  • Serve employees and guests in the cafeteria line providing courteous service to patrons.   
  • Observe proper portion control techniques. 
  • Ensure proper food temperatures for service. 
  • Prevent runouts of all food items by informing cooks ahead of time of those items needed. 
  • Restock items as needed during break, lunch, and dinner. 
  • Stock and restock canned and bottled beverages, milk and yogurt. 
  • When assigned, set up special functions, deliver food items for functions and clean after functions.  Restock, clean, and serve in the cafeteria in between functions on assigned function days. 
  • Attend scheduled meetings and in-services. 
  • Perform all other duties as required in relation to your kitchen duties. 
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

This is a full-time position that will work Monday - Sunday 6am to 2:30pm or 11am to 7pm.

Qualifications

 

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED OR 
  • Previous work-related experience. 
  • Possess physical ability to perform all job-related activities. 
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, staff and guests.  
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
