Discovery Mood and Anxiety at Annapolis is a 40-bed Adult residential treatment center focused on mental health.  The facility has a robust nursing staff that need a strong dynamic nursing leader that can help shape the future of Annapolis as well as establish practices for continued growth.  As a member of the facility leadership team, the Director of Nursing is responsible for all areas of nursing within the facility to include nurse scheduling, medication management, medication storage, and ensuring all nursing policies are procedurally embedded, and followed.

Compensation Range: $108-130K

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

The Director of Nursing supervises, heads, and coordinates nursing activities and nursing personnel in our locations. Evaluates nursing activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.

Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative oversight of the facility's nursing services, and where appropriate, directly supervising the facility's nursing staff.
  • Assisting in developing and maintaining written objectives, policies and procedures related to nursing services, developing an organization plan, and developing a quality assurance program for nursing services, and reviewing all nursing policies and procedures, minimally, on an annual basis
  • Ensuring the coordination and integration of nursing services with other client care services to ensure continuity of care for each client.
  • Assisting in the development of written job descriptions for the nursing staff and assigning duties of the nursing staff.
  • Participating in staff orientation and staff education activities, when applicable.
  • Participating in team conferences with the multidisciplinary team and the client care committee (if the facility chooses to establish a client care committee).
  • Under the supervision of the Medical Director, assists in educating clients about health problems and medical care.
  • Facilitates medication education for new clients and for all other clients starting new medications.
  • Manages nursing staff including staffing, training, disciplinary action, and communication between the nurses and other departments.

This is a full-time position working onsite from either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and Nursing strongly preferred. 
  • ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) accepted. 
  • Holds a current RN license in good standing. 
  • Five years working as an RN with a minimum of two years of experience in leadership. 
  • Five years of experience working in mental health, substance use, or eating disorders field strongly preferred. 
  • Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire. 
  • Obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. 
  • Must possess a current Driver’s License in good standing.
