Anew Era TMS & Psychiatric multi-clinic practice is looking for a qualified candidate to join our fast-growing company. Anew Era TMS, part of the DiscoveryMD professional psychiatric division, prides itself with its close culture and clinical excellence, while focusing on helping patients sustain their mental health wellness goals and bringing a new sense of hope to those who are suffering.
Compensation Range: $20 per hour - $25 per hour
Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience

Responsibilities for the Billing Specialist-PPS includes, but are not limited to, effective communication and coordination with Insurance companies, various team members, offices and patients to obtain the most accurate information. You will establish relationships with insurance carriers and obtain accurate, detailed insurance benefit information by phone and via the internet. Good verbal and written communication are required. Record keeping must be accurate and thorough. Flexibility with schedule so you can meet critical deadlines as established.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with Billing Resolution Lead regarding various issues found in patient accounts including balances, claims and denials.
- Work as liaison between region and billing team to resolve any billing issues.
- Review Charge Slips in Advanced MD for necessary claim corrections prior to submitting electronic claims.
- Review and work on AR balances and adjustments.
- Review data on insurance policies to ensure accurate claim processing and payment.
- Accurately utilize the billing system.
- Collaborate with biller and respond to biller inquiries in a timely manner.
- Contact clients to collect on outstanding account balances, termed insurances and any other patient related insurance issues.
- Responsible for sorting mail that includes EOBs, check and various forms of payments and forwarding correspondence to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare deposit slips and checks for deposit.
- Maintain and update various spreadsheets for reports and records.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient care and business.
- Demonstrate strong, professional communication and interpersonal skills with clients, public, managers and co-workers.
- Perform general office duties and keep desk clean and organized.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records.
- Demonstrate the ability to act as a team player in a professional and positive manner.
- Any other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Basic understanding of insurance terminology (out-of-network benefit s vs. in-network benefits, as well as coinsurance, co-pays, and deductibles), in addition to general billing practices.
- Coding/Billing Certificate from an accredited institute or school preferred.
- 1-year minimum healthcare experience with billing or insurance verification required.
- Experience with behavioral health treatment preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral and mental health programs
- Knowledge and experience with EMR and billing software programs required.
- Knowledge and experience with professional medical/behavioral health claims
