Compensation Range: $23-25 per hour.

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

The Billing & Collections Coordinator is responsible for managing the monetary settlement of client accounts and will assist with the Revenue cycle. The Billing & Collections Coordinator is responsible for creating and distributing detailed billing statements to clients/families for unpaid moneys due.


  • Monitors and supports daily staff functions in all areas relative to the Business Office Manager’s scope of responsibility.
  • Maintains appropriate internal control safeguards over accounts receivable records and collection of cash.
  • Maintains compliance standards for providing accurate information on each facility relative to flow of information for revenue cycle.
  • Assess and responds to organizational and (internal and external) customer’s needs to ensure satisfaction.
  • Implement customer friendly guidelines, educate when indicated.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and directives
  • Oversee the integrity of the clinical/financial interface.

This is a full-time position at our corporate office.


  • A full understanding of insurance terminology and inner workings of insurance companies
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in billing and collecting
  • Experience with Medi-Soft and/or KIPU software is a plus
  • Experience with Facility Billing (UB-04) is a plus
  • Experience in billing and collecting at a mental health and/or substance abuse program/facility is preferred
  • Must be able to calculate patient financial responsibility based on benefit review (i.e. able to understand how deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays and maximum out-of-pockets work in determining client responsibility)
  • Knowledge of full billing and profit cycle
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Analytical skills with the ability to collect and assess data from multiple sources
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal
