Compensation Range: $100-120K/annually
Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

The Assistant Clinical Director reports directly to the Clinical Director and is responsible for the daily clinical operation of the facility in collaboration with the Medical Director. The Assistant Clinical Director works with the Clinical Director to supervise and train the staff clinicians and counselor interns directly. In addition, they work closely with the Clinical Director to assure the clinical components of the facility are appropriately coordinated and meet all regulatory and patient care standards. This position assists Clinical Director in administrative tasks and special projects for the department, serve as Interim Clinical Director when Clinical Director is off-site, monitor and track trends in Patient length of stay and AMA rate, aid Clinical Director in clinical oversight for admissions on complex cases, identifying EHR efficiency issues and engage in trouble shooting to maximize PCC productivity, and engage in curriculum development for all clinical services. The Assistant Clinical Director also oversees utilization review with clinical staff and ensures timely and accurate documentation in patient medical records.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to all Casa Palmera Policies and Procedures.
- Conducts self in a manner that represents Casa Palmera values at all times.
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude with all work-related contacts.
- Communicates regularly with the supervisor about departmental and Casa Palmera concerns.
- Consistently reports to work on time, prepared to perform the duties of the position.
- Meets productivity standards and performs duties as workload necessitates.
- Responsible for working in collaboration with the Clinical Director of the facility in overseeing the management of the daily clinical operation of the facility while demonstrating ethical and professional conduct.
- Oversee compliance of clinical/behavioral health components with regulatory standards (e.g. Joint Commission)
- Participates and assists in regular data collection, reporting (e.g. mandated by funding sources, regulatory agencies), strategic planning (financial and programmatic), and development and implementation of productivity standards with the management team
- Participates in regulation of work and paper flow, including the patient registration, authorization, billing and collection process
- Participates in recruitment, retention and training of clinical staff
- Responsible for working in collaboration with the CEO and Clinical Director on the schedule including permanent staffing and temporary/per diem staffing.
- Appropriately documents clinical and administrative work.
- Ensures to use the utmost of care in protecting the confidentiality of client records in accordance with State and Federal laws
- Collaborates with medical, behavioral health, and counseling staff regarding detox clients
- Assure the design and implementation of clinical or program quality improvement(s).
- Provide Professional and ethical therapy to chemically dependent patients in treatment through group, individual counseling, family counseling, and education.
- Ensures compliance with all behavioral health protocols.
- Presents changes, improvements or additions to protocols or behavioral health procedures to the team.
- Understands and adheres to Casa Palmera’s compliance standards as they appear in Casa Palmera’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Casa Palmera regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
- Systematically collect, record and analyze data and other relevant interactive social systems, including mental status, special precautions (suicidality, homicidality, elopement); physical problems/medical acuity (withdrawal and nutritional needs); and ethnic concerns (social, religious, or cultural needs).
- Uses assessment data to identify problem lists and other interactive social systems.
- Initiates/develops a treatment plan with specific goals and interventions unique to the needs of the patient.
- Intervenes as guided by the treatment plan to implement appropriate interventions that promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health, prevent illness effect rehabilitation, and restore developmental progression in adulthood.
- Provides health teaching for adult/family through individual and group interactions.
- Recommends special precautions for adults, as needed.
- Evaluates the response of the adult/family to interventions in order to revise the plan, including discharge criteria.
This is a Full-Time position that works Monday through Friday.
- Possess and maintain a current and unrestricted independent practice recognized licensure in California, to include Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D.), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Must possess a Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field from a regionally or nationally accredited university or a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D, Psy.D) from a regionally or nationally accredited university.
- Preferred, approved supervisor status by state professional licensing board
- Preferred prior experience in the field of chemical dependency and/or behavioral health.
- Possess and maintain a current CPR/First Aid certification and SAMA/CTI/CPI certification.
- Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, and research processes, quality improvement and change management techniques, financial analysis, budget process and planning, accreditation and regulatory standards, strategic planning principles, ability to assess clinical care requirements based on psychotherapeutic and human development principles, scope of practice, and regulatory standards.
- Understanding of Addiction: Basic knowledge about substance use disorders
- Treatment knowledge: familiarity with behavior change and recovery models
- Application to practice: Methods for applying intervention and recovery knowledge to practice
